Job description

FUNCTION

Working as an integral part of the maintenance team you will be responsible for attending production breakdowns and diagnosing faults quickly.

Job requirements

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Maintaining and repairing site services, installations, plant and equipment to keep unplanned downtime to a minimum and establishing a robust PPM procedure.

·         Carryout PPM, Reactive maintenance and site upgrades.

·         Update electrical drawings & provide circuit drawings

·         Delivering repairs and installations to the correct specifications on time and in full.

·         Using advanced principles and techniques to repair, replace and test all electrical installations and assist where possible the repair and replacement of PLCs and any other electrical controls

·         Liaising with all relevant departments to ensure interruption to services is reduced to a minimum

·         To assist when required, the mechanical team

·         Help develop & mentor apprentices

·         Carrying out inspections for preventative maintenance and responding immediately to equipment breakdowns whilst prioritising workload on a daily basis

·         Carrying out quality inspections and liaise with contractors on all internal and external work carried out by contractors

·         Maintain electrical consumables

·         Contributing to the control of maintenance costs and budgets

·         Working on ongoing installations/upgrades to projects on site

·         Liaising with all relevant departments any amendments made to priority breakdowns

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

·         Ensure all safety rules and standards are adhered to

·         Ensure correct Personal Protective Equipment is always worn when required in line with company procedures

·         Commitment and ongoing support to the company’s LEAN programme

·         Comply with the Company’s Attendance Management policy

·         Provide holiday/absence cover for other roles/tasks as and when required

·         Fulfil any other duties as required for your job role

·         Flexibility to travel as and when required

·         Hold a full clean driving licence

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements        

Essential

  • Must be time serviced in an electrical discipline

  • Electrical experience in fault finding & repair of equipment in a production / manufacturing environment

  • Good working knowledge of LEAN principles and commitment to continuous improvement

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to maintain housekeeping to the highest standards

  • Excellent work ethics and standards in line with company core values

  • Good planning skills to enable the post holder to assist in the preparation of maintenance action plans and to monitor these plans to optimise productivity

  • Good understanding of health and safety and ability to fully adhere to policies and procedures

  • City & Guilds 18th Edition

  • Good working knowledge of PUWER

  • Knowledge of panel wiring

Desirable

·         Health and Safety Qualification and or experience

·         Electrical and Mechanical experience on presses, CNC, Laser cutting machines

·         Fault-finding experience

·         Test & Inspection

·         Knowledge of safety circuits

Shifts:

Note: we operate a 4 day working week (37.5hours)

Monday to Wednesday - 07:00 to 17:00 & Thursday 07:00 to 16:30
